We should thank Pacquiao for the Mosley-Mayweather fight

If there is any good that came out from the failed negotiations between Pacquiao and Mayweather then this is it the Mayweather-Mosley fight in May 1. This is nowhere comparison to the $25 million pay out with Pacquiao but still it’s a fight to look forward to. And Manny Pacquiao unknowingly put Floyd into a corner which his bases are all covered and had nowhere to go but to face Mosley. The moment the negotiations went sour team Pacquiao didn’t waste any time and look for the stiffest welterweight fighter available and that happens to be Joshua Clottey. Mosley at that time was scheduled to fight Andre Berto in Jan.30 and it didn’t take a day or a week to make the fight Clottey and Pacquiao was a done deal in just 15 minutes. And that put pressure in Floyd Mayweather Jr. the boxing fans will not forgive him if he fights an undersized fighter and feather puncher Paulie Malignaggi or a class way below him in Matthew Hatton. He must fight a legitimate fighter who doesn’t look like a sparring partner or a bloated light weight who looks like a punching bag. There are only two acceptable fights for Floyd it’s either he fights Paul Williams or Shane Mosley. Andre Berto had to withdraw his fight with Mosley because of the earthquake that happened on his home country Haiti and so that clears the path for a Mosley and Mayweather face off. Floyd knowing Mosley’s history also demanded a stringent of random urine and blood testing and thought Shane would back off but when Shane welcomes the blood testing with open arms it puts Floyd back on the same corner. Mosley has already signed the contract with Floyd demanding on an immediate rematch. If you are a self proclaimed great in boxing why would you put a contract clause of a rematch? It’s the same as the failed Pacquiao fight and now Mosley. Floyd has doubts of winning.

The fight is not yet a done deal with Floyd still not signing the contract. But he will soon sign it because with the looming litigation cases and IRS taxes he is forced to face a legit Welterweight that he has been avoiding for the past decade. Thanks to Pacquiao, Mayweather has no other choice but to face Mosley.
