Gilbert Arenas was chosen as the front cover model for the popular video game NBA Live 08 and said “this is a dream come true, I’m a huge gamer and have been playing NBA Live since 1995. I never imagined that I would see my face on the cover of an EA sports videogame.”
Agent Zero was the new face of the NBA back then. He was exciting and confident. He could create his own shots and unstoppable in many ways. He was the first NBA blog superstar his insights were thought provoking and funny in some ways it is believed to be the top blog of any pro athlete today. I for one followed his witty insights from his million dollar 25th birthday all up to trade rumors of him playing in L.A. He is a true gamer who plays video games and Halo but in Dec. 24, 2009 Gilbert admitted to storing unloaded guns in his locker following a dispute with teammate Javaris Crittenton during a Christmas Eve argument about gambling debts. NBA commissioner David Stern is contemplating a lengthy suspension but allowed Arenas to face his punishment right after the end of the season but during pre game introduction against the Philadelphia sixers Arenas teammates gathered around him and he pretended to shoot them with his fingers in a form of a gun that act compelled Stern to suspend Arenas indefinitely without pay until investigation is complete. Now Gilbert is slowly losing his charismatic touch and might be losing his $118 million contract. After two seasons of injury Gilbert went back with a different persona. He wasn’t talking in the media, he stops writing and the once animated and love player became too distant and aloof with his only focus is winning and taking his team right back to the playoffs after being on the bottom for two seasons. There must be something wrong with Arenas healthy and the core of playoff contender Wizards are back with two key veteran acquisitions in Foye and Miller but still they are 9 games behind from being respectful with a 12-23 record. From Hero down to his jersey number the Wizards need Agent Zero to come up but maybe he took the gun slinging game called Halo too seriously. It’s okay to goof around sometimes but guns are totally in a different level. The fact that Crittenton and Arenas have brought guns around the arena means they have in every means had bad intentions against each other. Good if they are shooting against each other but the fact that there are thousands of people watching their live games they are endangering lives in that matter.
Gilbert Arenas has to realize sooner or later he has to stop playing games and try to concentrate on basketball. This is not like any other games when you just press the reset to start over again. It causes him millions and his job is on jeopardy he needs to wake up and face reality. It may not be what you expected but welcome to the real world buddy…
