The heavy thudding of the inflated leather bag hanging around the gym came as a surprise to some people. Everyone thought it was a heavy weight boxer showing off his power in the gym, as the five-foot-seven boxer from Mexico emerges.
Juan Manuel Marquez is busy preparing for their fourth and final battle against his arch nemesis Manny Pacquiao. His added weight and muscle are not a surprise. Marquez is aiming for a win…, and that means no judges will ever get to show their cards.
Knockout… Marquez doesn’t care what round, or how long it will take to put Pacquiao’s guard down, but this is the only option to win.
He sees only one exit on his career, and that is why he wanted to retire with his hands up, erasing all the doubts, and all the questions about all his controversial fights with Pacquiao.
Forty eight rounds of non-stop action… and after all the failures, controversies and bad decisions, everything will end up with one winner, and one arms raise.
Both fighters know that this would be their last fight together. All the familiarity and good rivalry will always come to a conclusion. Marquez who is six years older than Pacquiao knew that this is his last and only opportunity for redemption. He knows he can still keep up with Manny’s speed, and he knows that Pacquiao could never find a solution to his counter punching skills.
Marquez’ bulging arms and heavy built body has slowly become a legitimate welterweight fighter. He looks very ready while showing off his determined punching power.
December 8 would be the end of a rivalry… one man standing… Juan Manuel Marquez knows what he had to do to win…, and Manny is predicting a bold knockout.
This has been a war for almost eight years, and now we will witness the final battle.
Amidst the inflated leather bag and the positive vibes around the gym…Juan Manuel Marquez if asked for a prediction… he could only answer one thing. “We will win”.
Of course he means by knockout.
