NBA Diary: Boston(2-0) A Lesson from Leon

Leon Powe dribbles the ball and dunk in an uncontested layup in the 3rd quarter that brought Boston’s lead to 20 points. Boston’s offense was in the zone with extra passes and collapsing defense on the Laker’s triangle. Leon Powe scored 21 points and Boston went 2-0 against the Lakers.
The Lakers feeds their defensive energy through their offense had a lack luster night with very poor defenses. They were soft defensively and their offense wasn’t working for them. Calls are not on their side and Boston capitalizes the Lakers off night. The Lead ballooned to 26 and Boston went on a rampage.
There were no excuses for the Lakers this time… Fouls not called… poor execution and defense. The intensity wasn’t there and they are beaten by Boston with good execution and suffocating defense.
The Lakers will just have to bounce off adversity and start game 3 in the right foot.
Although after a 26 point lead by Boston the Lakers went to work and cut off the deficit to only 2 points Kobe orchestrated the Lakers offense and this time their defense was working. The Lakers were down but they made a strong message against the Celtics.
The Lakers won’t quit that easily and if Boston wants a championship they have to do it the hard way.
Leon Powe played the game of his life and proved everyone can make it inspite of all the adversities in life. The Lakers should learn from Leon and they have to do it fast. Sometimes lessons are learned the hard way.
