Pacquiao outclassed Clottey

Manny Pacquiao was already rehearsing for his after fight concert with still days left before he fights Ghanian Joshua Clottey win or lose Manny will still put on a good show boxing or singing wise while Clottey’s trainer, Lenny De Jesus is already thinking of a rematch with Pacquiao. “I’m going to impose on him (Clottey) to throw more punches in order to win” said De Jesus.
After the fight Manny still went with his concert while Clottey couldn’t seem to follow the script his coach wants him to do. It was a lopsided decision with only two of the three judges awarded Clottey with just one round. The bigger and physically imposing Clottey was all in a defensive mode last Saturday applying a peek-a-boo attack but with more peek than boo. Manny peppered him with punches from all angles but he could not break Clottey’s high guard. When Joshua throws a punch it was greeted by 5 to 6 combinations then he goes back to his shell. “I’m a little disappointed with Clottey, this was a championship fight. This was his chance to win a title and beat Manny. But I think all he wanted to do was to go the distance” said Freddie Roach. Clottey might be thinking about Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton and Miguel Cotto when he was fighting Pacquiao. He doesn’t want to be included in Manny’s KO list and decided to be in a survival mode rather than to risk throwing punches and end up kissing the canvass, Clottey’s too proud to not let that happen he rather finished the fight standing up and preserve his never been down record. The fight entitled “The Event” came out to be uneventful after all with one boxer looking for a fight and the other contented to just survive.
“I’m very strong, but this guy [Pacquiao] is so very, very fast,” Clottey said. “Manny Pacquiao will give anyone he fights a lot of problems, a lot.” I don’t think Clottey came to the fight with a loser’s mentality everybody wants to win it’s just that Clottey was put in a no win situation with Manny. He can’t put his guard down with Manny and he can’t execute his offense without eating some power punches. It’s not a mismatch with the bigger and stronger Clottey he was just simply outclassed by Manny.
There is only one logical opponent for Manny and that guy is fighting against Mosley this May 1. This fight should happen and Manny is willing and ready to fight Floyd we just hope Floyd this time follows the script.
