With the end of the regular season in the NBA nearing, many fantasy basketball fans participating in leagues on website such as FanDuel are looking for some reliable role players to target down the stretch. This is the time of the year in which players are banged up, teams are coasting to the finish line and weird results are happening every single night. The three players listed below might not have been on the fantasy radar at the beginning of the season, but they are getting the opportunity to shine now.
The Minnesota Timberwolves have been a mess, but Dieng is keeping their hopes alive for a possible playoff spot. He has been playing very well alongside Kevin Love, despite being buried on the bench for most of the first half of the regular season. Rick Adelman has never been fond of playing rookies, and Nikola Pekovic will be back soon from an ankle. However, for the time being, Dieng looks like he will get plenty of run in the final month.
Like Dieng, Wright is having success thanks in large part to an opening in the lineup due to injury. LaMarcus Aldridge has been ailing as of late, and it seems as though he could be out for most of the remaining regular season games. Wright has the size to do some damage inside, and he has always been an efficient shooter from the outside. He has taken advantage of his increased playing time so far, and it is only a matter of time until he becomes a hot pickup in FanDuel leagues.
Tim Hardaway Jr.
The opportunities have been plentiful lately for the rookie, as the New York Knicks are in need of players who can produce. Remarkably, they are still very much in the playoff hunt, and Hardaway’s play has helped them string together a few wins in the last few weeks. He is probably never going to be an All-Star like his father, but he is a scorer who should get plenty of looks in the last month.
