A group of Australians went into a dumpsite in Cebu, Philippines and was surrounded by a number of people greeting them with warm smiles and nice words. One of the Australians break down and cry as her contingent tried to calm her down and ask what she was crying about and she said I have been living in a comfortable house and can eat whenever, whatever I want… I have a nice paying job and a luxury car and yet I am not happy and contented and here we are on a garbage dump literally filled with trash all around with a very foul environment and we are greeted with smiles on people who basically have nothing but they still have reasons to be happy and to smile on.
The recent debacles between Pacquiao and Mayweather have turned one false accusation into a global debate of a fighter’s reputation. Not a single dot of evidence that Floyd can accuse Manny of steroids but still he insist that Manny is up to something even calling the Philippines that they have the best enhancement drugs. Ok Floyd name one Filipino who won a gold medal in the Olympics? In fact Philippines are three places behind their southeast counterparts. We all know Floyd can talk the talk but when it was time for him to walk the walk he did walk but on his way out. During mediation Manny compromise on Floyd’s insistence of a blood test and when GBP and his advisers talk to Floyd he called the fight off like putting ice cold water in a burning candle bottom line is even if the blood test never float up Floyd will look for other issues just to duck Manny because he knows he is in for a good beating.
I’ll tell you a trade secret Manny and all the millions of Filipino people are resilient and amidst all disaster and economic downfall we always put a happy disposition and a smile. Manny Pacquiao will fight Foreman or Clottey and as for Floyd he will continue to fight undersize or under skilled fighters… talk about leveling the playing field.
And for the Philippines and all the Filipinos out there we move on with a smile.
